     The GDHP is an intergovernmental organization in the digital health sector that facilitates cooperation and collaboration between government representatives and the World Health Organization (WHO). Its purpose is to foster policymaking that promote the digitalization of the health sector on a global scale. It aims to encourage synergies among its members, focusing on the development of sustainable and quality digital health services, contributing to key areas such as clinical and consumer engagement, cybersecurity, evidence and evaluation, and interoperability. SPMS has been part of the GDHP since 2018.

What is the news?
     Portugal, represented by SPMS, was elected vice-president of GDHP. In this election, Portugal succeeds the Netherlands, which now preside over the organization.  The election took place during the 12th edition of the GDHP Summit 2023, on December 4th and 5th, in London, United Kingdom.

What are the impacts?
     The impacts include the reaffirmation of Portugal’s prominent position and the commitment of SPMS in the field of digitalization. As vice-president of the GDHP, our country gains international recognition in digital health services.
